RS485 Sludge Sensor / Sludge Concentration Sensor
This industrial RS485 sludge sensor adopts the optical turbidity / infrared scattering measurement principle, with integrated digital signal processing, built-in temperature compensation and IP68 waterproof structure. It provides standard RS485 (Modbus-RTU) digital output, featuring high stability, anti-fouling, strong anti-interference and fast response. It is widely used in sewage treatment plants, sludge thickening tanks, sedimentation tanks, industrial wastewater and aquaculture systems, and can be seamlessly connected with PLC, DCS and MTW series controllers.


This RS485 sludge concentration sensor is an intelligent online monitoring probe designed for measuring sludge concentration, turbidity and suspended solids (SS) in wastewater and sludge systems. It uses the infrared optical scattering (860nm / 880nm) measurement principle, which is not affected by color and can accurately measure high-concentration sludge and suspended solids. The optical window is made of high-strength sapphire or tempered glass with a self-cleaning wiper / anti-fouling coating option, effectively reducing contamination and extending maintenance intervals.
Built-in temperature sensor realizes automatic temperature compensation, correcting measurement drift caused by temperature changes. The whole machine adopts digital signal conditioning and electrical isolation design, with strong anti-electromagnetic interference ability, supporting stable long-distance data transmission via RS485 Modbus-RTU. The probe housing is made of corrosion-resistant PPS/PEEK engineering plastic and 316L stainless steel, suitable for long-term submerged installation in harsh wastewater environments.
It supports standard calibration (standard solution or field comparison), with calibration data power-off storage and fault self-diagnosis functions. The sensor has a wide measuring range, covering low-turbidity clean water to high-concentration sludge, and is suitable for various working conditions such as biochemical tanks, sludge discharge pipes and thickeners.
