Wastewater Classification and Water Quality Monitoring Instruments
Wastewater refers to the polluted discharge water from domestic and industrial production, which has lost its original function. So how is it classified? What instruments are needed to monitor this wastewater?
Several Classifications of Wastewater
1. Industrial wastewater: Wastewater from manufacturing, mining and industrial production activities, including runoff or leachate from industrial or commercial storage and processing, as well as other wastewater that is not domestic sewage.
2. Domestic sewage: Sewage from residences, office buildings, government offices or similar places; sanitary sewage; sewer sewage, including industrial wastewater mixed with domestic sewage in the sewer system. Garbage, various atmospheric particulate matter deposition, etc. [2], are caused by entering the water environment through surface runoff, soil erosion, farmland drainage and other forms. It has the characteristics of dispersion, concealment, randomness, latency, accumulation and ambiguity, so it is not easy to monitor and quantify, and the research and control are difficult. Water pollutants are substances that cause pollution when discharged into water bodies.
3. Commercial Wastewater: Harmless wastewater from commercial facilities with certain components exceeding those of domestic sewage. Examples include restaurant wastewater, laundry wastewater, animal husbandry wastewater, and wastewater from hair salons.
4. Surface Runoff: Water from rainwater, snowmelt, highway runoff, and urban and industrial areas, etc. Surface runoff does not infiltrate the soil and flows along streets and land into groundwater.
Applications of Online Water Quality Monitoring Instruments:
Online water quality monitoring instruments are widely used in water sources, environmental pollution sources, water treatment processes, municipal pipe networks, rural drinking water, and industrial circulating water. Main products include: online heavy metal monitors, online COD analyzers, online ammonia nitrogen monitors, online total phosphorus analyzers, online total residual chlorine analyzers, online water quality biotoxicity analyzers, and online E. coli analyzers, providing real-time data support for water quality safety.
