Chlorophyll Monitoring Sensor | Online Fluorescence Chlorophyll-a Probe
This industrial chlorophyll monitoring sensor uses the fluorescence detection principle (470nm excitation / 685nm emission) to measure chlorophyll-a concentration in water in real time. It features high sensitivity, fast response, no reagents, and IP68 waterproofing. With RS485 Modbus-RTU output and built-in temperature compensation, it is widely used in surface water, lakes, reservoirs, rivers, aquaculture, and environmental monitoring, and can be directly connected to PLC, DCS, and MTW series controllers.

This online chlorophyll monitoring sensor is an intelligent optical probe for real-time measurement of chlorophyll-a concentration, an important indicator of algae biomass and eutrophication in water. It operates on the fluorescence spectroscopy principle: a blue LED light source (470nm) excites chlorophyll-a in algae cells, which emits red fluorescence (685nm). The intensity of this fluorescence is directly proportional to the chlorophyll-a concentration, enabling accurate and sensitive detection.
The optical system uses a stable LED light source and high-sensitivity photodetector, with a sapphire optical window and anti-fouling coating to resist contamination and biofouling. A built-in temperature sensor provides automatic temperature compensation (ATC) across 0–50°C to correct measurement drift caused by temperature changes. The probe features digital signal processing and electrical isolation for strong anti-interference performance, supporting reliable long-distance transmission via RS485 Modbus-RTU.
The housing is constructed from corrosion-resistant PPS/PEEK and 316L stainless steel, suitable for long-term submerged installation in natural water bodies and aquaculture systems. It supports factory calibration and field verification, with data storage, fault self-diagnosis, and optional self-cleaning functions. It is ideal for early warning of algal blooms, eutrophication assessment, and aquaculture water quality management.
